Thesen Island Moorings

Lightleys Holiday Houseboats exciting new overnight area is now open in the Thesen Harbour Town. This means you can now moor your boat and stroll to the shops, restaurants and spas – and not have to worry about driving home in the dark!

Here’s what you need to know:

• Consult the tide chart to make sure you’ll be able to pass under the railway bridge on both outward and homeward legs of your journey
• Please book your mooring through Lightleys’ Reception. The cost is R150.00 per boat per night (only 4 moorings, subject to availability)
• Arrange a time and we’ll send someone to help you tie up safely to the jetty

The Sunday Market

Browse, look, hear, nibble and taste at the Thesen Harbour Sunday Market: from hand made pottery, to hand made soaps, from exotic Indian clothing to dazzling to local paintings, clever African wire art, kiddies clothing and much much more!

The food & beverage stalls offer unusual delicacies like delicious stuffed olives, spicy samoosas, roti and chilli bites, beautifull Vietnamese spring rolls and miso soup, Dutch cheeses, biltong, Nyatiu jjj Mampoer-based liqueurs, excellent coffee, chai tea, 100% fresh juices and English breakfast rolls
